About MacSIG
What is MacSIG?
MacSIG is the Macintosh Special Interest Group at the university of Michigan. We are a group of faculty, staff and students who share an interest in the Macintosh platform, emerging technology and support.
MacSIG has an email group designed to help University of Michigan computer administrators and support personnel stay abreast of the latest developments regarding Mac OS on campus. MacSIG members can post messages to the group when they need technical assistance or when they have a question that is pertinent to their job and they think that another member of the group may know the answer. MacSIG is made up of folks all across campus in many different roles: desktop support, network administration, faculty, and even doctors and dentists, all of whom have an interest in the Mac and provide some support to their fellow computer user, either professionaly, or otherwise.
Joining MacSIG
Who Can Join?
The MacSIG User Group is geared toward U-M system administrators and support folks, though it is open to anyone. MacSIG is not a general Macintosh enthusiast or hobby group, but one with serious aims: to provide support and a sense of community to the Macintosh administrators and support personnel who work at the University of Michigan. Although general users can join, we request that discourse be restricted to technical discussions of the hardware and softare that compise the Macintosh universe.
That said, you don't need to be a computer expert to join! We just want you to have an interest in Mac OS-related computer support or administration or serious technical issues that may be of interest to others.
